There I was on my walk back to my apartment in New York City in December 2007 wondering how I got to this point in my life. In 2006 I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Kinesiology Movement Science and began working for my mentor Brad Pantall as the assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Penn State basketball. Every day was filled with the challenges of turning division one athletes into well-oiled machines who could physically dominate their sport. This was a world for the knowledgeable to prove their knowledge, the passionate to demonstrate their passion, and for the weak or lazy to parish.I was continuing my path towards a master's degree and hopefully becoming a head strength coach myself one day, however, a few roadblocks lay in front of me. I was a creature of curiosity and couldn't help but wonder if there were challenges that awaited me outside of central Pennsylvania. A colleague set me up with an interview at a premiere sports club in Manhattan. After two interviews and a phone interview I had been told I got the job as a 'private trainer' and it was at that very moment my career path took a wild change in course.

The first thing that struck me as odd within this industry was that there was no desire to demonstrate your knowledge. The private sector of training was a landscape dominated by the word 'Sell!' The days of willing and dedicated clients working as hard as they could to better themselves had given way to an institution dominated by half willing participants arguing or joking with impassionate and often unknowledgeable trainers. My confidence and certainty in the techniques and philosophies that I believed in due to their scientific births were met with confusion and animosity. Education and desire to become better at one's craft was not met with mere disinterest but with distain. I felt unfulfilled and disheartened.

It was on this walk that I realized I had gone from a proud Strength and Conditioning protégé to a glorified used car salesman and I was bitter about it. I decided that I was going to take back what was mine. I wasn't going to have a mere list of clients and I wasn't going to give in to the weak standards that surrounded me. I was going to build something better, something pure. I was going to build a Brawlic team.

Since 2008 I have amassed a list of people whom I train that remind me of those very division one athletes that I had the pleasure of coaching at Penn State. These clients, or 'Teammates,' of mine are people that are dedicated to living to become stronger people, better people, more fit from the inside out. This is the very essence of what BRAWLIC STRENGTH means. Brawlic is the symbol of one's willingness to use our training to help them become better fit, better husbands, better wives, better friends, better people. We work together and try to push everyone on our team to get better every day. When you train with me you are accepting that you are no longer alone on your goal to be fit. You are accepting that you want something greater for yourself just like I did on that cold night in 2007. You are accepting that you trust me to help you help yourself to change your life and you're accepting that as you continue your journey that you are part of a team that will help you, inspire you, and cheer you on.This is Brawlic. Welcome to the world that I have created.
STRENGTH COACHING BIO
Greg earned his degree in Kinesiology- Movement Science at Penn State University and is a club level Olympic strength coach through the USAW as well as certified professional speed coach with the NASE. Upon graduation Greg began working as the assistant to Brad Pantall, Head strength coach for Penn State Men's and Women's basketball. In February of 2007 Greg made the move to NYC to begin training privately. In the past 5 years Greg has amassed a stellar client base while earning rave reviews as a top-notch strength coach in the industry. Greg has also received praise for the success of his Brawlic cross training program which has many participants in both New York City as well as Bridgehampton.
'I thought personal trainers were expensive babysitters for the unmotivated. They are. And personal trainer, Greg is not. You train with Beast when you want a strength and conditioning coach that takes you to the next level. He is a bottomless well of knowledge from which you could drink a thousand times and never stop learning. That's why I went Brawlic.'
ASHLEY FURST

'I have been working out with Greg for about 2 years now. When I decided it was time for me to hire a personal trainer, I was looking for several things. First, I wanted a trainer that would make me a healthier individual and keep me active and in shape. Secondly, I wanted a real strength coach who is a trainer. A person that really understood this type of training. I play a lot of basketball so I wanted a portion of my workouts to be directly related to some of the basketball goals I wanted to accomplish (I know Greg has similar expectations from other clients also that he delivers on) and finally I wanted to have a person that was part of my daily routine of fitness whereby we are always working on different things using different workout routines. I am never bored with the workouts as they are always changing.I have had the opportunity to listen to other professional fitness experts at conferences and everything they have said you should be doing is literally everything Greg does with me. I am completely comfortable with his methodology to train.I would highly recommend Greg to anyone. He has become part of my life and I am better and healthier as a result. He is the best.'
LAWRENCE M. DeELUISE

'Greg has been my personal trainer for over 1 1/2 years. The results I achieved prior to my pregnancy are far beyond the goals I had originally established for myself. I trained with Greg for only 1 year and my body completely transformed. I became exceptionally strong, very lean and was in excellent shape. Through the duration of my pregnancy, I continued to workout with Greg and was able to maintain an incredible amount of energy and strength. I did not suffer from water retention, backaches, excessive weight gain, or any other physical problems that many women 35 years old experience while pregnant. I can honestly say that I had a very comfortable pregnancy and this I believe was due to training with Greg prior to and during my pregnancy. I firmly believe that Greg's commitment, extensive knowledge and workout routines provide the necessary foundation for a healthy and happy lifestyle.'
RANEE BARTOLACCI-MEIR

'After working with many trainers, Greg truly set himself apart with his holisitc approach to health, strength, and fitness. He is a true expert in his field and always keeps my workout fun, exciting and dynamic. He knows how to customize his vast knowledge and create a program that optimizes results for each of his clients. Brawlic isn't just a workout, its a mindset.'
ADAM FISCH

'Greg is a force of knowledge, encouragement and dedication. He creates training programs suited to each individual. He has created a program that has helped me in competing in marathons and triathlons, resulting in personal best finishing times. Greg continually challenges me week after week, totally transforming my body from month to month. I feel stronger and more confident as a result.'
ROBERT CIABELLA

'Before I met Greg, I had been going to a health club and 'working out' for years and, needless to say, not getting the results I wanted. Greg helped me understand the difference between 'working out' and 'training.' Now I have a specific set of objectives and a program tailored to exactly the goals I wish to accomplish. Greg has motivated me to work harder than I ever have in the gym while keeping our sessions fun and enjoyable. And he practices what he preaches - his drive to get better and better at what he does inspires me to do the same. I encourage anyone thinking about reaching the next level in their fitness regime to get BRAWLIC!!!'
BILL GILROY

'Impressed by the results my husband had achieved while training with Greg for 3 years, I decided to cancel my membership at an upscale NY gym to see for myself what the Brawlic philosophy was all about. Its been several months now and I am confident that I made the right decision. Unlike other trainers I had worked with, Greg developed a program to specifically fit my needs and took great care in making sure that my form was correct and that I understood why I was doing each excercise from a scientific and practical standpoint. Greg's training style is both challenging and motivating. I find myself doing the excercise routine on my own in between sessions. It is only now that I realize the significance of having a good trainer and how big an impact this has on taking health and fitness seriously.'
RACHEL FREDMAN

'I thought that I would always be 'The Chubby Guy' and until around 7 years ago, I was. I convinced myself that I had come to terms with my body, and that there was nothing I could do to change it. With that rationale, I kept my exercise routine to a once weekly basketball game, and diet that consisted of a selection of pastries, sweets…you name it.By sticking to this 'routine' pretty religiously, I woke up one day and found myself close to 240 pounds. It was around this time that I traveled to NY for a Job opportunity. Something changed inside of me when I reached NY, and till today I still cannot pinpoint exactly what it was, but I finally decided to take control of my life. One of my closest friends, Nir Meir, introduced and persuaded me to begin a consistent workout routine at the Reebok Club.It is there, that I met Greg, our Beast. Greg completely changed my view of what a 'workout' means. I was his first client and he encouraged me to achieve goals I never would have thought possible. From day one we would talk about setting specific targets for each year, we would talk about what I wanted to accomplish, and how we could work together to make it happen. After only two years of working together with Greg, I saw my body fat percentage shrink by more than half, a result that I still can't believe today.BRAWLIC has become more than a term used to describe an exercise routine, it is a state of mind that starts at the gym and trickles down into all aspects of life. It is the ability to push yourself past every limit you ever set for yourself. It is a mental state that you take with you even after leaving the four walls of the gym behind.Developing almost simultaneously with my relationship with Greg was my passion for biking. As soon as you can first feel spring in the air, I take out my bike and ride whenever possible. Ranging from 30- 300 miles, biking has become an integral part of my workout as well as a pastime I really enjoy. Greg, having noticed my affiliation for the sport, worked with me on developing a program that would both ensure that I was gaining more and more muscle but would complement my biking goals as well. Not an easy combination. But we did it.Each year over the past few years I have been amazed by what we have been able to achieve together. I am looking forward to the next few and continuing to surprise myself by what I can accomplish if encouraged by the right person.'
GUY TANNE

'In terms of fitness, I categorize my life thus far into two eras: the body I had before training with Greg and the body I've had while training with Greg thereafter. I have been working out with Greg for about two and a half years and I've never hit a plateau or stopped progressing. As a professional musician, singer and dancer it's my job to stay fit and try to be my best – but as a former gymnast I have absolutely no tolerance for workout boredom and need to be challenged. I also have this little rule that I won't do an exercise unless my trainer can do it as well –sounds pretty straightforward but you'd be surprised at how often trainers can't practice what they preach. On the flip side, it's amazing what you get when you combine someone who is knowledgeable and someone who is passionate about what they do, and Greg is both these things. I've never really looked at him as a trainer, more as a Coach and a mentor and occasionally, when he's not making me do handstand push-ups, a friend.'

UPCOMING CAMPS
In 1998 Greg began playing lacrosse for Springfield High School in Delaware County Pennsylvania. As a Senior he would graduate after a great career earning 2 team MVP awards as well as All-State, All-League and All-County recognition as a face-off man and offensive midfielder. After accepting a Division 1 lacrosse scholarship to Penn State Greg became a four year varsity letterman as a face-off specialist. Greg graduated in 2006 leaving the Nittany Lions with 2 NCAA tournament births, a conference championship, MVP award and as the school's All-time leader in Face-off wins. In 2006 Greg was drafted in the 3rd round by the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse. In 2012 Greg Set the Lizards single season record for ground balls on his way to an MLL All-Pro Season. In 2013 he will enter his 7th season as a member of the New York Lizards.
I love coaching lacrosse players, plain and simple. Aside from the physical training and development, the skill side of developing lacrosse athletes is something I take a lot of joy in. Being a midfielder my entire career, I've played in every type of offensive, defensive and special teams situation that can occur in a lacrosse game. I have a talent for breaking the game down so that a player can understand not only the basics, but the very minor details that can improve themselves and the players around them.

My specialty of course is the Face-off. From a player and a coaching stand point I believe that Face-offs are the most misunderstood portion of the game of lacrosse. Because of this I've seen many face-off men fail to reach their full potential due to a lack of effective coaching and technique. After spending countless hours over the years studying not only the position itself but what styles of education get across the best to players and coaches, I've become very confident in my abilities to help athletes and coaches alike get the most out of the position.
